Woodvale Estate Sea-Side Break to Clacton-On-Sea

“The weather held out for us as I won a beach ball for my grandson”, said Mary Hannigan Chair of Woodvale Estate, Tenant and Residence Association.

Young people from Woodvale Estate were treated to a sea-side resort break to Clacton-On-Sea on Monday 12th August 2013.

The sun was out as young people enjoyed both the indoor and outside activities that included some amazing attraction.

The summer break activities co- designed by young people, forms a part of the co-operative working between Norwood Community Group Services and the local council, who have once again sponsored the programme.

This is the second trip out of many that young people have enjoyed in order to get them out of their vicinity to enjoy the summer and relax.

“I experience something different from what I usually do, it was a lovely experience and I even won a fish”, said Katie Murphy, a tenant at Woodvale Estate.

Norwood Community Group Services have been running the summer programme for young people on the Woodvale Estate for the past two years.

Jamal Rahman, Chief Executive, can be contacted at for other youth programmes that are ran by the Charity.
