Woodvale Estate Goes Go-Karting

“Kids were ecstatic, they kept talking about how enjoyable go-karting was and look forward to the other activities”, said Mary Hannigan, Chair of Woodvale Estate, Tenant and Residence Association.

On Monday 5th August 2013, Norwood Community Group Services summer activities with Woodvale Estate, kicked off to a flying start as young people attended UK Go-Karting at Worchester Park, Surbiton, Surrey.

Young people from the ages of five years upwards got into gear as they raced each other around the track circuit excitingly.

“Young people thoroughly enjoyed themselves, this is co-operative working at its very best with the local Council”, said Jamal Rahman, Chief Executive of Norwood Community Services.

This is the second annual trip for Woodvale Estate with sponsorship from Lambeth Council, as part of their co-operative working with Norwood Community Group Services.

Young people co-designed the programme together with Norwood Community Services, forms were distributed to families on the estate, who signed up for the summer activities.
