Organisations Join Forces To Deliver Workshop for Young NEETS

On  Tuesday 14th  &  Friday 17th  May,  Norwood Community Group Services (NCGS), Technology To Teach, Inspire Futures Group Ltd and Job Centre Plus, forged partnership together to deliver a two day  confidence building workshop for young NEETS in West Norwood.

  • The ‘Confidence Building’ workshop, held at The Old Library Hub in West Norwood that ran during the course of two days, equipped young people with the basic tools for developing self.
  • Skills on how to develop strategies to develop confidence.
  • Identifying moments when they are giving up, how to counter act this
  • Mind mapping was ‘used to identify activities to help develop confidence such as recognising past achievements and setting goals.’

Young people were awarded with certificates in completion after the two day workshop and were offered the opportunity to gain work-experience with the partnering organisations.

“I found the young people very pleasant to work with, I thoroughly enjoyed sharing the different methodologies on confidence building with the group.  It was definitely a positive learning experience for all who participated”, said Margaret Morrissey, who facilitated the Workshop.

“We are happy to support and help our young people within West Norwood, some of them we speak to have already graduated from university and still cannot find suitable employment”, said Jamal Rahman, Chief Executive of NCGS.

The Confidence Building workshop is available for young people between the ages of 16-24, not in education, employment or training (NEETS).
